Aneesh G Laikar
<p align=justify>Bangalore-based Ikya Human Capital Solutions, a premium integrated HR solutions company has appointed Aneesh G Laikar as Chief Executive Officer of its Executive Search and Recruitment arm. Laikar has over 15 years’s experience in the recruitment space. Prior to joining Ikya, he was with ABC Consultants as Executive Director. He had earlier worked with Philips India, where he started his began his career in sales, followed by a career in recruitment practices with Personnel Search Services and Datamatics Staffing Services. In his new role, Laikar would be responsible for leading the business to become a market leading player in the search and recruitment space. For Ikya, his appointment represents a logical extension of building on the first round of equity capital raised earlier.
Vishnu Srivatsav and Sham Ramachandran
Grey South has announced the promotions of Vishnu Srivatsav and Sham Ramachandran to Senior Creative Directors. Both Srivatsav and Ramachandran are currently responsible for the creative product of the Bangalore branch. With this promotion, they will shoulder the additional responsibility of overseeing creative for the Chennai office. Both Srivatsav and Ramachandran had joined Grey when its Chennai branch was re-started in 2003. At the new branch, they went on to win brands like Sabena dish washing bar, Aircel, Java Green, Spencer’s and Kiwi. In 2006, both of them moved to Grey Bangalore. At the Bangalore branch, they consolidated existing businesses like Britannia, 3M and ITC Foods, and had also been responsible for the Bangalore branch’s growth with the addition of new brands like Deccan Cargo and Express Logistics, Wockhardt, Post-it Notes, Scotch Tape and Kirtilals Jewellery.
Mogae Digital launches digital ‘Garden of Love’
Mogae Digital, originally promoted by Sandeep and Tanya Goyal, has announced the launch of a digital ‘Garden of Love’ in an interesting new rendition coinciding with Valentine’s Day. The Goyals are also the Indian JV partners of advertising giant Dentsu in India. It may be recalled that earlier in February 2009, Malaysia’s Astro Group had picked up a 50 per cent stake in Mogae Digital.
DEN launches country’s first ever 24x7 music service in Bangalore
Following the launch of its digital cable TV service, Digitelly, in September 2008, DEN Networks Ltd (DEN), a cable distribution entity with a pan-India footprint, launched non-stop music service for its digital subscribers in Bangalore. This interactive service would enable subscribers to choose what they want to listen and hence assure power in the hands of consumers.

DAVP ad rates to increase by 10-15 pc; 15 pc commission also to be waived off
The Government has decided to hike the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) ad rates. Sources familiar with the situation inform that the DAVP ad rates are expected to increase by another 10-15 per cent. Also, the Government has accepted the request of the print industry players to waive off the 15 per cent commission that was given on the ads. In essence, this would mean a 25-30 per cent increase in DAVP ad rates.

Slowdown hits ICL, Grand Championship postponed till October 2009
ICL on February 12 postponed its Grand Championship tournament, which was scheduled for March 2009 to October 2009. Advertising in India is a very different ballgame. Time and again, people have come here and discovered that. Stories are different, the communication and solutions are different. It may not appeal to a lot of people. How would you explain to an international jury that ‘Thanda matlab Coca-Cola’ or ‘Hamaara Bajaj’ are great ideas? Left to me, I will not enter a single award – national or international – and right now I cannot afford awards in any case. I am against the system where I have to pay someone to judge my work.
