IPL ratings lower than last week, but digital TVR could bring cheer to advertisers

The TAM Media research rating for IPL2 from April 26 to May 2, 2009 matches showed the average ratings for the C&S category was 4.08 TVR, whereas that of digital was 5.92 TVR. The ratings released this week have shown a slight dip as compared to the ratings released for April 18-25, 2009 matches. exchange4media.com spoke to media planners to find out whether the digital ratings have any kind of impact on the advertisers.

As per the Indian Readership Survey (IRS) 2009 R1 data, released by the Media Research Users Council on May 8, Hindustan Times is the top publication in Delhi, while The Times of India is the top publication in Mumbai. When it comes to the publication that showed growth in Mumbai, DNA is on top. Telecommunication services with 82 per cent share leads in telecom sector advertising in print during Q1 2009. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd was the top advertiser in telecommunication services in print. Nokia Corporation and LG Electronics shared the 1st rank with an equal advertising share of 22 per cent each of the overall telecommunication equipment advertising in print during Q1 2009.
