RK Swamy BBDO has appointed Rohini Gauthaman as General Manager, Media Direction, New Delhi. She will be reporting to Les Margulis, President, RK Swamy BBDO’s Media Direction. Prior to this appointment, Gauthaman was VP – Planning at Lintas Media Group. She has also been with Allied Media and Hakuhodo (both part of the Percept Group), Mindshare, Enterprise. She had earlier been with RK Swamy BBDO’s Chennai office in 1994. In her role across agencies, Gauthaman has been responsible for Maruti Suzuki, Luxor, BILT, PVR Cinemas, JVC, Panasonic, Yamaha Pianos, Canon, Toshiba, Konica, Sony, Dupont and a host of other accounts.

Wynn Telecom, which recently announced its foray into mobile handset business under brand ‘Wynncom’ has appointed Dentsu Creative Impact as its creative agency, while Karishma Initiative and Alliance Advertising have been appointed as media agencies. Wynncom officials confirmed the development to exchange4media. The marketing budget is in excess of Rs 30 crore.

National carrier Air India has reportedly narrowed down its search for creative agencies to four following a multi-agency pitch. The strong contenders in the race to be empanelled include DraftFCB Ulka, RK Swamy BBDO, Mudra and Lowe Lintas. It maybe recalled that in July 2009, Air India had called for the initial round of the pitch, while in October 2009, the final rounds had taken place.
