Guest Column: "Every time I have attended Goafest, I have gone back richer"
Kartik Sharma, MD, Maxus South Asia, describes the collective positive energy at Goafest & how it brings the entire ad fraternity together in formal and informal ways
The three magical letters GOA bring in many thoughts every time someone utters the word. For many it’s a great holiday destination, fantastic beaches, relaxed time spent with family. For me beyond holidaying Goa immediately brings to my mind Goafest. Every time I have attended Goafest I have gone back richer. Richer in terms of many positive memories, many new friends & a ton of new things which I have learnt. It’s amazing how the entire industry comes together & shares thoughts in both formal & informal ways. The awards themselves are a testimony of celebrating great creative work done by all agencies.
This time around I am looking forward to listening to various amazing speakers. I am eagerly waiting to hear Norm Johnston’s & Melanie’s views, who are from the media agency fraternity. I am very curious to know what’s running in the minds of Shravan and Sanjay kumaran. I hope to be entertained & learn a few tricks from Tanmay Bhat, Rohan, Gursimran & Ashish on how they make people laugh & get a few words of wisdom from brilliant minds like Preeti Mariappan, Riley Peter & Habib Faisal. The session moderated by Karthi Marshan (Kotak Group) is going to be very interesting & I look forward to attending the same.
Goafest is also about energy; energy coming from some great minds & also interactions with many youngsters many of them who will be in leadership roles soon. Every time I interact with the youth I feel happy to see such great energy, talent & also feel proud that the Indian marketing communications industry is in good hands.
Last but not the least I look forward to meeting several old friends, as Goafest is a great place to cherish all the good time we have had together & create new priceless memories which I will cherish all through my life.
