Manish Tiwary has been named the new Managing Director of Nestlé India, marking a significant leadership transition for the company.

Tiwary, an industry veteran with extensive experience in the e-commerce sector, is best known for his transformative role at Amazon India, where he was hired 8.5 years ago to revamp the way people in India engage in buying and selling.

His journey at Amazon began in 2016 when he took over from Samir Kumar, the then Vice-President of Category Management. His appointment at that time was part of Amazon India’s strategic move to deepen its market presence and expand its reach across the country. Tiwary’s leadership focused on driving Amazon’s consumer business operations, and his efforts were instrumental in shaping the rise of digital commerce in India. He played a key role in strengthening seller services and creating a more inclusive and accessible marketplace, which helped empower millions of buyers and sellers across India.

Prior to Amazon, Tiwary worked with Unilever’s various arms for a majority part of his career. Here, he joined as a Brand Manager for Pond’s but decades later left the organisation as Managing Director of Unilever Gulf and Vice President of Customer Development.

The new Nestle MD’s LinkedIn profile mentions his specialities as, “Handling complex multi-layered go-to market organisations, creation of sound strategies for sustained business growth, handling key stakeholders like independent board members, joint venture partners, government bodies and more.”
