Our journey began in the early 2000s, during my college days in the world of advertising. It was a time when emails were our primary mode of communication, and it was through this digital thread that Resham first entered my life. She messaged me, seeking advice about joining MICA, the college I was attending. Little did I know that this initial exchange would blossom into a lifelong connection.
As we exchanged emails and occasional phone calls, Resham became more than just a friend; she became my North Star, guiding me through the tumultuous waters of early adulthood. Despite never having met in person, our bond strengthened, rooted in a shared love for creativity and design.
She is an amazing designer and has worked with leading agencies before taking a break to look after our daughter. She is the person who helped me in my career. She made my portfolio to send out in Bangkok, the first international trip I took for work. We got married and shifted to Bangkok, she was in TBWA at that time and I was in BBDO there.
We went for our honeymoon to Pattaya for Adfest, as I was selected there. I used to win a lot of awards in Bangkok, then we moved back to Bombay and here I didn’t win anything. She was like a rock to me, supporting me through this time. She puts perspective on everything that I do, whether it will be a success or a failure.
Over the years, Resham has been my constant source of strength, especially during the toughest times. Whether it was navigating career challenges or dealing with personal setbacks, her words of encouragement – "Babe, remember what you love" – were a beacon of hope.
From that time to now, where I am heading a very big agency, she has been the wall I can come back to and lean on. Having the right partner is a great blessing one could ever have. If you know you have the right partner, trust me it just solves everything in our life. It is the best thing that can happen.
