Now, Kerala court summons Baba Ramdev over misleading ads
Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna have been asked to appear before the court on June 3 in a case about a complaint regards its ads published in English and Malayalam dailies
A court in Kerala's Kozhikode has asked Patanjali's Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna to appear before it on June 3 in case of misleading ads.
The case is based on a complaint filed by a Drugs Inspector who has alleged that Patanjali has issued misleading ads for drugs claiming to treat certain ailments.
These ads were published in English and Malayalam dailies.
The case has been filed under the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act.
The drugs in question are Patanjali's Divya Lipdom and Nutrella Diabetic Care.
In April, Patanjali issued fresh apologies in newspapers after being pulled up by the Supreme Court over the size of the apologies.
Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali apologised for carrying out misleading communication about their products.
The apology text reads: "We earnestly apologize for the mistake made in publishing our advertisements and it is our whole-hearted commitment that such errors will not be repeated."
