Veteran tech journo and author Anand Parthasarathy no more
Prior to becoming a prominent commentator on India's tech space, Parthasarathy served DRDO for over 20 years as a defence scientist on various projects, including the Indian Missile Programme
Anand Parthasarathy, a celebrated figure in the world of technology journalism, passed away on August 13. A pioneer in the field, he last held the role of Managing Director at Online India Tech Pvt Ltd.
The company runs the news portal www.indiatechonline.com and offers technical writing and corporate communication services to Indian and international IT enterprises.
Parthasarathy was an alumnus of COEP College of Engineering Pune and Birmingham University. He had a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering and spent close to 20 years with DRDO as a defence scientist for various projects, including the Indian Missile Programme.
He served at the Naval Physical & Oceanographic Laboratory Cochin India (1972- 1988) specialising in underwater acoustics and systems and at Advanced Numerical Research and Analysis Group ( ANURAG) Hyderabad( 1988-1989) working on high performance computing and at Defence Research and development Laboratory (DRDL) Hyderabad) 1988-1994.
He moved on to journalism in 1994, working as an IT Correspondent and IT Consulting Editor with The Hindu. He reported on IT developments in India between 1994 and 2002 for The Hindu daily and The Hindu Businessline.
He has also written books on e-governance and tech and founded India Tech Online to contribute to tech media.
