Dubious ads featuring deepfakes of Anant Ambani, Neeta Ambani, Gautam Adani and Yogi Adityanath have gone viral, promoting a gaming app called Aviator. The “ads” looks so convincing that it has managed to fool netizens into believing it’s a genuine advertisement.

The videos were released some weeks ago but have only recently started getting traction on the internet. They show Anant Ambani talking about how to win big cash prizes on the app and promising he would increase their wins five-fold. The video goes on to assure viewers that Ambani will refund players twice the amount they lose.

In another such video, a deepfake of UP CM Yogi Adityanath explains how he won a lot crores through the app.

These videos have been picked up from real TV interviews and manipulated to make them seem like promotional ads for the Aviator app.

The country has recently seen a spurt in deepfake videos featuring big celebs promoting dubious products, especially gaming apps. Not too long ago, cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli fell victims to deepfake ads.

Elections season saw a slew of such manipulated videos circulating on the internet, featuring top politicians such as Amit Shah, Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal
