Big Magic’s new talent hunt show ‘Mele Ka Big Star’ will be offering an opportunity to the local regional talent found in the small towns and rural areas of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. The show will offer a much bigger platform to the people to showcase their talent beyond the local ‘melas’ or fairs.

The performances encompass acts like singing, dancing, stunts, mimicry, acrobatics or any such skills which has high entertainment quotient. The show will go on air on Big Magic from the third week of May.

Elaborating on the show’s concept, Vineet Mittal, Business Head - Rural, Big Magic, said, “Mela is a prominent source of recreation in rural India and holds a significant position among the masses; it is an imperative form of fun and entertainment in villages and small towns where myriad forms of talent converge on one platform to entertain one and all. We are using mela as a backdrop and giving a platform to the local heroes to come and showcase their talent. It will also give a chance to connect with rural India.”

On the advertiser profile, Mittal said that it would be companies that want to make a better connect in rural areas such as telecom and automobile companies. As for the target audience, he said that it was not about any particular section of the people. “‘Mele Ka Big Star’ is a show for the entire family,” he added.

Commenting on the show’s USP and promotion plans, he further said, “The mela idea is the USP and has not been explored as yet. We will be going the usual route of television, radio and print to promote the new show.”
