A Pune outlet has won a 13-year-old case filed by Burger King Corporation against the local eatery for using the same name as the US company, media networks have reported.
The lawsuit was filed in 2011 against a Pune couple for naming their joint 'Burger King'.
The US food chain claimed the Pune eatery violated the trademark and asked them to pay damages.
The couple, however, argued that they were calling their eatery 'Burger King' since 1992, much before the US brand's entry into India.
The court in its ruling said that there was not enough evidence to support claims made by both parties.
