Camlin Founder, Subhash Dandekar, no more

Subhash Dandekar was currently the Chairman Emeritus of Kokuyo Camlin

The Founder of Camlin, Subhash Dandekar, passed away on July 15. He was 85.

Subhash Dandekar was currently the Chairman Emeritus of Kokuyo Camlin.

As per reports, he took over the company from Digambar Dandekar who had started the company in 1931 as an ink manufacturing unit.

It was Dandekar who led the expansion of the company from just stationery to products related to artwork. The company was renamed Camlin in 1988.

Japanese stationery maker acquired 50% of the stake in Camlin in 2011.
