Veteran Mumbai based journalist Sujata Anandan passed away last night. Sujata chronicled Maharashtra politics for years, wrote a very fine book on the Shiv Sena. We were all part of a Mumbai media fraternity in the 1980s/1990s long before news became noise. RIP Om Shanti. pic.twitter.com/mOwlTw4meA

Very sad news. Veteran journalist, columnist & staunch supporter of liberal, progressive & secular thinking Sujata Anandan is no more. Yesterday, another senior journalist Satish Nandgaonkar passed away due to heart attack. Big loss to Journo fraternity. My heartfelt condolences.

Through college, there were some formidable bylines I wanted to emulate. Among them - Sujata Anandan, who could read Maharashtra politics like no one else, and Satish Nandgaonkar, with his strong grip on governance and infrastructure issues. Their passing is truly tragic. RIP.
