Gangster Chhota Rajan convicted for journalist J Dey's murder
The court acquitted former journalist Jigna Vora and another person Joseph Paulsen who were accused of instigating Chhota Rajan for the murder
Gangster Rajendra S Nikhalje aka Chhota Rajan has been convicted for the murder of veteran crime journalist Jyotirmoy Dey by a special CBI court in Mumbai.
According to media reports, nine others have also been convicted in the case. However, the court has acquitted former journalist Jigna Vora and another person Joseph Paulsen who were accused of instigating Chhota Rajan for the murder of 56-year-old Dey who worked with Mid-Day.
On June 11, 2011, Dey was shot dead by motorcycle-borne assailants in Powai, suburban Mumbai. Police had reportedly told media that the gangster hired shooters for Rs 5 lakh.
