Show-cause notice issued to Frontline for showing ‘incorrect’ India map

The Press Council of India has issued a show-cause notice against Frontline magazine Chennai for showing “incorrect” map of India on its cover page. The council take suo-motu cognizance of the matter.
The magazine issue is dated August 10-23 2024.
Issuing a statement, the council said, “Hon’able Chairperson, Press Council of India, Smt Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai has taken suo-motu cognizance on showing incorrect Indian map on its cover page in its issue dated August 10-23, 2024.”
“Taking suo-motu cognizance of the matter, a show-cause notice has been issued to the Editor of the magazine,” it added.
