A Man with a Midas touch!

My Dear friend NP Singh - MD & CEO - of one of India’s biggest media companies has decided to bid adieu to his executive position. Not only do I admire his incredible professional journey but also cherish my long-standing friendship with him. His decision surely has surprised me but as they say, ‘All good things do also bid farewell’.

The entire industry knows about his outstanding contribution, not only to Sony India but also to the Media & Entertainment Sector. A professional journey spanning over 44 years of which 25 years of pure dedication to Sony is a masterpiece in itself.

 My association with NP began nearly two decades ago during the SAB TV-Sony association, and I am proud to say that we have carried forward our friendship all through this time thanks to the extremely warm, humble and gentle person that he is! Anyone who knows of him will vouch for his gentleness and calm composure. Be it the SAB TV deal, or SET MAX, or IPL, he has steered Sony India to reach the pinnacle of success where it stands tall today. His bold decisions have made Sony India a profitable venture.

What I admire most of him is his uncanny ability to maintain relationships with one and all with the same vigour, warmth and personal touch. His astute sense of content makes him the perfect media executive that he is. Right from knowing the log lines of each content that Sony produces or broadcasts to overseeing its execution along with management duties is something that few can match. It’s hard for me to digest that he has decided to move on from his executive position. He hands over a fantastic legacy for which I am sure Sony will find it hard to find a successor.

I wish him all the best in all his endeavours! I am sure in his guidance role as well he will be a beacon of light!!
