Deep Upadhyay to take on Sant Prasad Rai's responsibilities at TV9
Upadhyay will be supported by Rahul Chaudhary in managing the day to day newsroom operations
Post the exit of Sant Prasad Rai as Managing Editor TV9 Bharatvarsh, the management has now decided to synergize broadcast and digital businesses.
Now the editorial function of TV9 Bharatvarsh Channel will come under the leadership of Deep Upadhyay, Editor, Convergence & Strategy. Sant Prasad Rai, the erstwhile Managing Editor of TV9 Bharatvarsh has been relieved from his day to day newsroom responsibilities with immediate effect.
As per an internal communication, Upadhyay will be supported by Rahul Chaudhary in managing the day to day newsroom operations for the time being.
Upadhyay joined TV9 Network from News24 where he had a successful stint as Managing Editor for more than seven years. During his long career, he has worked with various prominent Media Houses like India TV, Zee News and Dainik Bhaskar. One of his most challenging assignments was to set up the Newsroom of Ariana, the first News Channel of Afghanistan after the fall of the Taliban.
A son of the hills, Deep was born and brought up in Nainital, he likes to read Biographies, History and Political Economics. During his leisure, he loves to cook for his daughters.
