Delhi HC pulls up India News over copyright issue
The Court has directed India News to run a continuous scroll on their channel stating it is not associated with India TV in any way. India TV had filed a case in 2008 against India News for using a deceptively similar channel name
In a latest development in the copyright case between India TV and India News filed in 2008, the Delhi High Court has directed India News to run a continuous scroll on its channel stating that it is not associated with India TV in any way.
It may be recalled that India TV had filed a case against India News for using a deceptively similar channel name.
A similar directive was given to India News by the Court last year, when India TV had challenged it for using an identical name.
However, after running the scroll for a short period, India News stopped running the communication. India TV moved the High Court last week with a contempt petition. Taking cognizance of the same, the High Court has issued a fresh order to India News for immediate compliance with the court’s order. The Delhi High Court has also ordered India News to submit their revenue accounts with the Court.
