This day is a perfect time to reflect on the achievements and milestones the media baron has achieved over the years. This year in July, Shri Adhikari Brothers (SAB) Television Network reappointed Markand Adhikari as Chairman & Managing Director of the company.

Adhikari is a media pioneer in the Indian entertainment industry and is the Co-Founder of SAB Group, which he started in 1981 with his brother, Gautam Adhikari. He is known for introducing the sponsorship-based model as a production house in the early 1980s. Markand has played a major role in differentiating SAB TV from others in its sphere by creating a comedy-centric channel.

The SAB Group has a legacy of many firsts in the industry. For the past 4 decades, Sri Adhikari Brothers have worked on multi-lingual and multi-genre content, catering to a wide section of audiences. The SAB Group is the first media organization in India to be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE).

Markand Adhikari has an experience of over 37 years in the Media & Entertainment Industry. He is leading the group’s foray into films which is establishing the SABTNL as a media conglomerate with a presence in publishing, content production, broadcast and filmmaking. Markand has been instrumental in SAB Group’s foray into all verticals of media & entertainment like content production, broadcasting, film production and distribution, digital platform among others.
