Deccan Herald has elevated news editor KV Subramanya to executive editor, according to reliable sources.
e4m had earlier reported that Sitaraman Shankar, the Editor and CEO of Deccan Herald, resigned from his position.
Shankar, who joined Deccan Herald in 2018, was the first editor from outside the promoter family in 35 years. He was appointed CEO in 2019, leading the company through the COVID-19 pandemic and significant newsprint cost increases.
