India News hires: Narendra Tripathi, Arun Agarwal come on board
To beef up its expansion plans in the Hindi belt, India News Group has appointed Narendra Tripathi as Chief Operating Officer for its broadcasting division, while Arun Agarwal has been appointed as Chief Finance Officer.
As India News Group readies for expansion in the Hindi heartland with state-focused news channels and local editions of Aaj Samaj, the group has appointed Narendra Tripathi as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for its broadcasting division. He replaces Rajiv Mishra, who had joined the group in February this year. Meanwhile, Arun Agarwal has been brought on board as Chief Finance Officer (CFO).
Commenting on the new appointments, Rakesh Sharma, CEO, India News Group, said, “India News Group has been in constant action in recent days. We have launched new editions of Aaj Samaj from all the districts of Haryana. Also, we are soon going to launch news channels from various states of the country. Hence, for the organisational consolidation of the group, we have brought efficient people on board.”
Sharma added that Agarwal took charge from September 5, 2011, while Tripathi came on board from September 10, 2011.
It may be recalled that Tripathi had recently put in his papers at Mid Day as Printer and Publisher for the North operations.
