About seven-month old Hindi news channel, News Express from the Sai Prasad Media stable, has roped in Kumar Rakesh as its new Executive Editor. Rakesh, who takes over his new job today, has come in from Positiv Television, where he was working in the capacity of the Vice President and Group Senior Editor.

At Positiv Television, where he was working since 2008, Rakesh was responsible for the group’s various channels - Focus TV (news, current affairs and infotainment channel targeting at women), Hamar TV (a Bhojpuri news and current affairs channel), NE TV (local languages based news channel for North East India), NE Bangla (a Bangla news channel), HY TV (a Hyderabad based Hindi/Urdu/English news channel for South India) and NE HiFi (a GEC targeted at North East).

At News Express, Rakesh would be directly reporting to the channel’s CEO, Mukesh Kumar.

Expressing his happiness on taking over the new role, Rakesh said, “I am very happy about my new role. The channel is getting positive feedback since the last couple of months.”

With a journalistic experience of over 25 years, Rakesh started his career The Indian Nation, Thereafter, he has worked with Dainik Bhaskar, Navbharat Times, Nayi Duniya and Rashtriya Sahara too.
