British Petroleum (BP) has appointed Mitali Sarkar as Director Communications for India. She has over two decades of rich experience in Corporate Communications, Crisis and Issue Management, Brand, and Social Media.

Prior to this role, Sarkar was the Global Head, Comunications & Brand at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories in Hyderabad.

She has also served stints with GE as their Culture and Organisational Communications Leader, GE South Asia, as well as at Schneider Electric as Head of Corporate Communications, India and Bangladesh.

Confirming the news to e4m, Sarkar said, “It’s been a great ride so far and I’m excited to be a part of a company that is so clearly committed to playing a leading role in helping the world to re-engineer the energy system. It is obvious that we have both the skill and will to drive the real system change towards the world’s demand for cleaner, better energy.”
