PHD has got former Dentsu X APAC-MD,  James Hawkins, for the role of CEO in Asia Pacific. He will start his new role in October.

Hawkins has more than 15 years of experience, including 10 years working in the APAC region, and has been at Dentsu in various roles since 2011. PHD hopes he will bring expertise to its agency as it develops its future-facing stance.

Hawkins will report to both Tony Harradine, CEO of Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific, and Mike Cooper, CEO of PHD Worldwide, with agency heads from PHD’s 16 APAC markets reporting to Hawkins.

Harradine said in certain sections of media that the agency is optimistic about building an agency of the future and the next phase of growth, buoyed by its recent win of HSBC, which moved the account from WPP just last month.

Hawkins replaces Susana Tsui, who left Omnicom in January this year to take on a Group CEO role at Dentsu Aegis Network in China.
