In the wake of a closely competed multiagency pitch, JWT India has been appointed the creative agency for Thomas Cook India Ltd. The incumbent on the business was Dentsu Marcom that was handling both the creative and the media duties for the travelling company. There is as yet not clarity on whether there is a change in the media agency for the business.
The pitch had involved six agencies that included names like Leo Burnett, TBWA\India, Everest Brand Solutions, Rediffusion Y&R, Beehive and Dentsu Marcom.
There were no official comments forthcoming at the time of filing the story. Sources close to development however have confirmed the development, and have added that the account size for the business would be in the vicinity of Rs 12-15 crore.
In December 2008, the travel agency had launched quality packages at affordable prices package campaign called My India-My Way. It is learnt that with its new creative partner, JWT India, the travel agency plans to take a fresh look at its creative strategy, and on the way forward.
Thomas Cook India offers a broad spectrum of leisure travel-related services such as package tours, currency exchange and travel insurance as well as hotel and flight reservations.
