‘My grandmother’s life is my biggest inspiration’

My grandmother is the epitome of inspiration in my life. She lost her husband at the age of 19 when my mother was just one year old. At that time, she was illiterate but her zeal to provide for her child was unstoppable. From there she went on to become the principal of a school and that is quite an inspiring journey.
My grandmother raised my mother, Sushma Joshi, into a skilled artist, who lent her voice to All India Radio for more than three decades.
It's my grandmother’s strong work ethic and unwavering love that I admire the most.
She had a balance of being affectionate while being stern when the time demanded. She didn't have any worldly attachments.
I was very young when I used to see her working at the school.
Now, whenever I feel lost, I just close my eyes and remember her.
