There was a moment in my life that changed everything. It happened when I saw a girl dancing on a cricket field in an ad. She turned a chocolate bar into a symbol of celebration, and that image stuck with me.

She was the ‘Cadbury Dairy Milk’ girl, stealing the show in one of the most iconic Indian television ads. She became the reason I said yes to advertising over two decades ago. Since then, I've been lucky to work in this incredible industry, where I get to tell stories that touch people's hearts and minds. Of course, I cannot thank enough my mother and wife, who have been my rock-solid pillars of support and my biggest fans (and critics).

I owe a lot of my success and happiness to the amazing women who've been my mentors, collaborators, and friends along the way. From my first boss, who taught me advertising basics and the value of hard work, to creative directors showing me how to craft compelling narratives, and countless others who shared insights, feedback, and support.

But one woman stands out - the ‘Cadbury Dairy Milk’ girl, played by Shimona. She sparked my passion for advertising before I even knew what it was. She made me feel the magic of storytelling, prompting me to say yes to advertising when the opportunity knocked.

These incredible women, including Shimona, have inspired, challenged, and helped me grow as a professional and person. They are storytellers, leaders, and magicians. Thanks to them, advertising is a beautiful and wonderful thing.

So, thank you, Shimona, and thank you to all the women who've made me love advertising. You're the reason I'm here, creating stories that are authentic, confident, and joyful - connecting with people on an emotional level, making them smile, and capturing the essence of what makes life beautiful and wonderful.
