Ajay Upadhyay: Prayer meet in memory of senior journalist to be held in Delhi

A prayer meeting in memory of veteran journalist and former Group Editor of Hindustan newspaper, Ajay Upadhyay, is scheduled to be held on July 12 in Delhi. The gathering will take place at the Deputy Speaker Hall of the Constitution Club of India on Rafi Marg, from 5 PM to 7 PM. This meeting will serve as a tribute to Ajay Upadhyay and a chance to remember his contributions.
Notably, Ajay Upadhyay, aged around 66, passed away in Varanasi on July 6. He had been suffering from diabetes and was staying in a hotel in Varanasi. His health deteriorated suddenly, and he was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Originally from Uniya village in Sant Kabir Nagar district, Ajay Upadhyay spent his childhood and received his education in Varanasi. He served as the Group Editor at Hindustan newspaper and held significant positions at major publications such as Dainik Jagran, Patriot Memory, and Amar Ujala. From 1985 to 1987, he was a member of the Kashi Press Association and was in charge of the editorial page at the daily 'Aaj.'
Despite studying engineering, his interest was in journalism, and he began his career with 'Aaj.' He later moved to 'Amar Ujala' and took over as Group Editor of 'Hindustan' after Mrinal Pandey. Ajay Upadhyay was also associated with 'Dainik Jagran' for some time. Subsequently, he continued to work independently as a journalist and participated in TV channel debates.
