Ashok Gupta named MD of Shalimar Paints
Gupta will be responsible for the overall operations and designing growth strategies for the brand
Ashok Gupta has been named as the managing director of Shalimar Paints, according to recent media reports. Before his appointment, Gupta was the MD at APL Apollo Tubes Limited, where he will now serve as the vice chairman.
At Shalimar, Gupta will be responsible for the overall operations and be in charge of designing growth strategies for the brand.
Prior to Shalimar and APL, he has been a top executive at various organisations such as SAIL, Bhushan Steel Group, LN Mittal Group, Jindal Industries, Global Sparenparts and Surya Roshni. He is an industry veteran with over three decades of experience.
Shalimar in its statement said Gupta has already helped the brand become EBITDA positive and register more than 30 per cent growth YOY, by leading a successful rights issue worth Rs 200 crore.
