Havas Malaysia's Andreas Vogiatzakis named as Group CEO of Star Media Group
Vogiatzakis will take over the position from Wong Chun Wai who announced his retirement earlier this year
Former Havas Malaysia Chief Executive, Andreas Vogiatzakis has been named as CEO of Star Media Group Berhad, according to media reports. Vogiatzakis will take over the position from Wong Chun Wai who announced his retirement earlier this year.
Vogiatzakis has previously worked as Managing Director of Publicis-owned Starcom Mediavest in Japan, after which he moved to WPP’s Mindshare Taiwan. He also worked with Omnicom Malaysia and Havas Malaysia as Chief Executive Officer.
According to reports, Chairman of Star Media Group, Datuk Fu Ah Kiow welcomed Vogiatzakis by saying, “The group’s board is confident that Andreas ’ past performance record and vast local and regional experience in the media industry would enable him to lead the management team in implementing its transformation plans."
Adding, “The board and the management will give him full support and cooperation to introduce more innovative changes to bring SMG to greater heights.”
