Killer Jeans files suit against Netflix's Killer Soup over 'trademark infringement'
Kewal Kiran Clothing Limited said that it 'has taken a strong objection' to the use of 'Killer' as part of the the Netflix series' name
Kewal Kiran Clothing Limited, the makers of Killer Jeans has filed a suit before the Bombay High Court against the makers of the web series Killer Soup for "infringing their Trade Mark 'KILLER.'"
"KKCL has impleaded the producers Macguffin Pictures LLP And Netflix Entertainment Services India LLP as Defendants in the Suit. The Manoj Bajpai and Konkona Sen Sharma starrer was released by Netflix on its platform on 11th January, 2024 with the title “KILLER SOUP”. KKCL has taken a strong objection to the use of their Trade Mark as a part of the name of the Netflix series," said the company.
Kewal Kiran Clothing Limited is an over 30-year-old legacy company in the Indian retail & fashion industry. Started in the 1980’s, by brothers Kewalchand Pukhraj Jain and Hemant Pukhraj Jain, the company owns Killer Jeans and is an apparel manufacturing business.
Killer Soup is an Indian Hindi black comedy crime thriller on Netflix that stars actors Konkona Sen Sharma and Manoj Bajpayee. The series premiered in January 2024.
