Monjit Sharma, the CEO of IOS Sports & Entertainment, who recently passed away was a true leader who never failed to smile, irrespective of what he was going through -- client meetings or appraisals, says Viraj Jit Singh, CRO of Jio Entertainment Services.

Monjit Sharma was Singh's first manager at ESPN Star Sports who always had his back. In his tribute to Sharma on LinkedIn on the occasion of Guru Purnima, Singh remembers the indelible effect his former manager had on him during his stint at the oranisation:

Monjit Sharma was my first manager. My time at ESPN Star Sports will always be close to my heart and he played a large part to make me feel so.

Monjit taught me the importance of protein intake in the mornings. He always came in early to work to gobble on chicken curry or biryani and then took a short nap before we started our day.

As a salesperson, we represent our brand and so it was always important to dress well, he would say- Smart shirt and a colorful tie. ? goes a long way.

He taught me the importance of enjoying work and building genuine relationships. I don’t remember a day when he didn’t smile, be it reviewing annual targets, in tough client meetings or end of the year appraisals. And as a true leader he always had my back.

This picture reminds me of who he was - always fun always masti.

So many memories with the special guy. We had planned to catch up for a long pending coffee this coming week.

He passed away last evening. I shall miss you Monjit. You still owe me that coffee. God Bless.
