Media veteran RBU Shyam Kumar has been appointed as CEO – South, Network18.
In this newly created role, Shyam Kumar will be responsible for the consolidation and growth of the southern regional news channels of the network, which include News18 Tamil Nadu, News18 Karnataka and News18 Kerala.
He is slated to join the network on October 15 and will work closely with Avinash Kaul – COO of TV18 & MD of A+E Networks | TV18. He will be based in Chennai.
Shyam Kumar joins Network18 from Cauvery News where his stint as the Consulting President was for four months. In his earlier role, Shyam Kumar was the CEO of the Puthiyathalaimurai Group for nine years.
