Apple has unveiled the new iMac 5, the world’s thinnest desktop computer with high-performance G5 processor and a stunning new design that integrates the entire computer into a flat panel display. The new line offers 17 or 20-inch active matrix wide-screen LCD and G5 processor running up to 1.8 GHz. The slimmest desktop comes with a price tag starting at Rs 87,800.

DTH players divided over compulsory sharing
Prasar Bharati has not allowed the Subhash Chandra-promoted direct-to-home (DTH) platform to carry the signals of Doordarshan, which holds the exclusive rights to the Australia-India series. Dish TV, in turn, has asked its subscribers to tune to the national broadcaster's free DTH service. This seems to be just the beginning of clash between broadcasters on the issue of sharing of channels.

Alongside changing the primetime band, STAR News is experimenting with the programme line-up. The channel is bringing in more differentiated programming in the news genre in an attempt to rope in viewers beyond the typical news audience. The channel is also planning to launch a number of new channels in the news genre that would be niche and not regional in nature.
