With a plethora of new models in the market, and generic benefits of a particular car segment hardly a distinguishing factor between car models, marketers are increasingly differentiating on the emotional pay-off a particular car model/brand provides to the consumer.

Businessworld–NID Design Awards honours innovation driven into action

India should stand for ‘innovation driven into action’ – this was the message that was conveyed at the Businessworld–NID Design Excellence Award held in New Delhi on Wednesday. Inaugurating the event to honour excellence in design, Kamal Nath, Minister of Commerce, said, “India has intellect and skills but we are yet to unleash them. This award is recognising the fact that India is capable of designing brands.”

ITC to sponsor sports only via foods division

ITC Ltd would continue to sponsor sports events in the future but only through its food division. The division’s marketing head, Hemant Malik said this in a press conference organised to announce ITC’s re -entry into sports sponsorship with the largest ever women’s tennis event in south Asia, ‘Sunfeast Open 2005, Kolkata.’
