Initiative bags Classic, PC Chandra, IIHT for business worth Rs 25 crore

Initiative, the media arm of Lintas Media Services, has added three new businesses in the last week. The agency has added Classic polo shirts in the Bangalore office and PC Chandra Jewellers in the Kolkata office. Including the media part of the business that comes with the full business win of Indian Institute of Hardware Technology (IIHT), the agency has added a total business of Rs 25 crore in the last month.

Grasim Industries consolidates Grey Cement business with Starcom

Grasim Industries has consolidated its entire Grey Cement business with Starcom. Prior to this, Starcom was handling only UltraTech from the Grasim stable. With this win, Starcom gets Birla Super and Birla Plus also in its supervision. The additional business moves from MX Advertising and the spends are estimated at Rs 10-12 crore. The creative side of the business, however, continues to be with MX Advertising.

Deccan Chronicle to buy The Asian Age

The Hyderabad-based Deccan Chronicle Holdings, publisher and owner of Deccan Chronicle, is set to acquire a majority stake in Asian Age Holdings, publisher of The Asian Age. Sources close to the development said Deccan Chronicle, which held a 20 per cent stake in The Asian Age, would increase its stake beyond 50 per cent. An announcement to this effect is expected this week.
