Cannes Lions 2023: India gets 2 shortlists
Leo Burnett's Lays Smart Farm and Ogilvy India's Dove #Stopthebeautytest have made the cut under Innovations and Glass: The Lions For Change categories
Ogilvy Mumbai and Leo Burnett India made their way into Cannes Lions 2023 shortlist for the categories of Glass: The Lions For Change and Innovation respectively.
The shortlists for Titanium and Innovation Lions, as well as Glass: The Lion for Change were announced earlier today. Leo Burnett got shortlisted in the Innovation category with their work Lays Smart Farm under "Scalable Innovation" while Ogilvy Mumbai got shortlisted for the Glass Lions category with its campaign for Dove, The Beauty Report Card.
Commenting on Lay's Smart Farm getting shortlisted, Rajdeepak Das, CEO & CCO at Leo Burnett India told e4m, "The best thing was we won Pepsi last year and we have been working alongside them since very long to make this project happen. We went to different places around the country and finally the work came out. It is one of the ideas that impacted billions. We are very happy to see it getting recognised out there."
Ogilvy Mumbai also released a statement, celebrated the development: “It is an honour to be considered for the Glass Lions at Cannes. In the same breath, we admit our nervousness about presenting before the Jury. #StopTheBeautyTest is not just a campaign but a mission for Dove Inida. We started this journey in 2020 and it will continue, until we believe we have made a difference. Every single thing we have shown in any piece of work for this campaign, has come from the young girls we spoke to. You can’t unlisten to what these girls have gone through. It is so harsh and damaging to their self-esteem.And it’s not just us. There is a whole team, starting with the campaign co-creators, Zen and Mihir, who believe that this ‘beauty test’ should be stopped at all cost.”
No Indian agency was shortlisted in the Titanium category. Cannes Lions 2023 is scheduled to happen from 19 June 2023 to 23 June 202
