Cannes Lions 2011 saw Mudra Communications leading the Indian tally with its entry ‘Silent Anthem’, done for Reliance Media Works. Mudra’s tally included three Silver Lions, five Bronze Lions and nine shortlisted entries. Will the agency retain its winning streak, remains to be seen.

The agency’s entries include work done for Stedfast Shredders, Blossom Books, Prism Papyrus and Geebees Beverages.

“This time we have better quality work; campaigns such as Coffee Gold, Anti Corruption and Paper Shredder have a good chance of winning this year,” said Deepak Singh, Creative Director, DDB Mudra Mumbai.

Singh believes that lack of technology and innovation are the reasons why Indian agencies miss out on gunning big metals at Cannes. “Activation and innovations are taking bigger points across the globe in all the award functions,” he shared.
