Medulla Communications, which has become a leading agency in the healthcare category, is not nominating fresh campaigns to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity this year. In 2017, the agency was ranked second in the healthcare category.

Before bagging the second spot in the category, it had won the Healthcare Agency of the Year title in 2016 (a first for India) for the Last Words campaign for the Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPC).  In 2017, Medulla Communications won two silver metals for the Last Laugh campaign created for the IAPC. In 2015, the agency was ranked #3 in the Healthcare category at Cannes.

“We are not entering new work to Cannes this year. We are taking a break after being adjudged among the top three healthcare agencies of the year for three years in a row,” said Amit Akali, chief creative officer, Medulla Communications. Instead, the agency is nominating the Last Laugh campaign that won in 2017 into the Creative Effectiveness Lions category.
