Internet's favourite new fixation, the Dalgona coffee, which started trending as a part of a challenge on social media, has now turned into a topical spot for brands. As the world is going through a global pandemic, every industry is drastically affected in terms of sales. However, amidst this coronavirus havoc, brands across categories are trying to capture audience attention in a bid to stay relevant. Cashing in on the Dalgona coffee trend, these brands have been whipping out creatives, tapping into the latest coffee craze. From SAB TV to Swiggy and from Coffee Cafe Day to Berger paints, all the popular names have been circulating creative posts around Dalgona coffee challenge.
SAB TV used an infamous character from their popular TV show Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma. Taking the trend ahead, POPxoFashion posted a “Who did it better?” template. Similarly, Swiggy tapped the moment with the global debate among pessimists and optimists.
Reportedly, the Dalogona coffee first went viral through a South Korean YouTube Channel before being widely circulated on TikTok. Now, when people are quarantined in their house, they're are making their versions of Dalgona coffee and sharing it on their social media handles. Consequently, during the lockdown, the whipped coffee became netizens' favourite isolation drink. Following the popular trend, brands across category took their social media handles to tap the viral hashtag #DalgonaCoffee.
