Confluent to open ‘engineering hub’ in Bangalore
The data infrastructure firm will expand its presence in India by creating 100 additional jobs by the end of the year
Data infrastructure firm Confluent on Tuesday said it will soon open an “engineering hub” in Bangalore.
The California-based company, which is on track for further international expansion, also said it will expand its presence in India by creating 100 additional jobs by the end of the year, which will be a 50% increase from its current workforce in the country.
Confluent’s SVP, Hemanth Vedagarbha, said “India is a key market for Confluent as we scale up our global presence. The public cloud services market is growing at a rapid rate and we’re already seeing many exciting use cases among customers here.”
The company currently has about 200 employees in India, and has added about 90-plus people in the last six months.
Confluent announced a record number of net new customers for Q1 2022 and 64% total revenue growth year over year in its first-quarter with projected total revenue of $554-$560 million for FY22.
E-commerce start up, Meesho, which is one of Confluent’s Indian clients, said “For a tech-first company like Meesho, which is committed to democratising internet commerce for everyone in India, the Confluent platform has been transformational in connecting our organisation and enabling real time data ingestion.”
Confluent, which is looking to partner with more companies based out of India and boasts of a vast and varied clientele, did not disclose the amount of investment it is doing in their India expansion.
