#ModiKiMedia trends as tweeps accuse Indian media of being 'biased'
There was an outpouring on Twitter from people who alleged that the Indian media has gone to every possible extent to hide the failure of the Modi Government
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi completes one year in office on Tuesday, he has been trending on social media for almost two weeks. On Sunday, #ModiKiMedia was trending on Twitter on the back of anti Modi tweets who expressed their disappointment and frustration on the Indian media which they said is biased towards Modi. They complained that the media has gone to every possible extent to hide the failure of the Modi government. By late Sunday evening, the hashtag got more than 30,000 tweets.
On Saturday there was outrage on Twitter as #ModiMurdersDemocracy trended. There were around 40,000 tweets on the hashtag as people blamed Modi of shielding corrupt bureaucrats.
In the last few days, we have seen hashtags like #ModiInChina, #ModiInMongolia, #ModiInsultsIndia, #ModiIndia’s Pride and #NikammiModiSarkar trending heavily. From being the butt of jokes in the form of hilarious memes, to anti-Modi tweets for the PM’s comments in his recent foreign trip, he has been in the news for all the right and the wrong reasons.
Here are few excerpts of the conversations:
