Singapore-based mobile social game creator TheMobileGamer (TMG) on Tuesday announced that it had received Series A funding of S$1 million from India’s One97 Communications.

The Mobile Gamer receives S$1 mn investment from One97

Singapore-based mobile social game creator TheMobileGamer (TMG) on Tuesday announced that it had received Series A funding of S$1 million from India’s One97 Communications.

TMG is a publisher of mobile social games like Club Wars, Monster Fight and Fun Factory for South East Asia. Distributed directly through Kotagames.com and via social networks, TMG has more than 500,000 subscriber base for its games.

TMG license and develop games that are localised and distributed through various networks and operators in South East Asia.

Commenting on the investment, Alvin Yap, CEO, TMG, said, “TMG is extremely thrilled to have One97 as an investor. The value goes beyond money as we are sure Vijay and his team can add significant knowledge and experience along with unprecedented access to the Indian market. We are excited to join the One97 family and to work together with them in becoming the market leader for mobile social games in Asia.”

One97 Communications Ltd is claimed to be India’s widest and largest deployed telecom application cloud platform. It also invests in early stage mobile companies out of its initiative One97 Mobility Fund, which is a $100 million fund set-up.

Talking about the investment, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director, One97 Communications Ltd, said, “Mobile social gaming is a high growth area of mobile gaming. Alvin and his team have shown their creativity and passion in launching addictive games on social platforms in South East Asia. We are very delighted to be part of the success of TMG.”
