Twitterati accuse Amazon of ‘copying’ Royzez’s #ShopBefikar slogan
Amazon’s new campaign ‘Ek Bar Amazon Try to Kar…Ho Kar Befikar’, is conceptualised by Orchard Advertising and addresses the fears and inhibition in the minds of the online shoppers
On Tuesday, the hashtag #ShopBefikar was trending on Twitter on the back of Twitterati accusing Amazon and the agency, Orchard Advertising (Leo Burnett) for copying the slogan of another e-commerce brand Royzez. People expressed shock and displeasure at the idea of just ‘blatantly copying the slogan’. According to a free social media tool, Topsy, the hashtag garnered more than 2,000 tweets.
Last week, Amazon introduced their new slogan ‘Ek Bar Amazon Try to Kar…Ho Kar Befikar’, where it addressed the fears and inhibitions in the minds of the online shoppers. The brand’s earlier campaign was ‘Aur Dikhao’, which was highly popular with the viewers.
However, early this month, Royzez had launched two new TVCs, focusing on ‘Shop Befikar’ highlighting the carefree shopping experience which the brand offers to its consumers. It has been created by Bad Studio Productions and conceptualised by the brand itself.
The brands are talking about providing hassle-free shopping experience to their customers, using similar sounding slogans.
