Mayank Bidawatka, the co-founder of homegrown microblogging platform Koo, has announced that a new consumer tech venture is underway.

Bidawatka took to LinkedIn to say that the project is under wraps, inviting candidates who are interested to join the early team.

The Koo founder added that a seven-member team is already working on the project.

Last week, Koo’s co-founder Aprameya Radhakrishna said that the microblogging platform will cease operations following unsuccessful negotiations for sale or merger with companies like DailyHunt.

"Our partnership talks fell through and we will be discontinuing our services to the public. We explored multiple talks with media companies, conglomerates and media houses but these talks didn't yield the results we wanted, " the company shared in a statement.

The company disclosed that it fired 30% of its staff in 2022 beset by turmoils in the tech industry.

It was touted to be a desi alternative to Twitter back in 2020 as a microblogging site for multilingual conversations. It was also launched in Brazil in 2022.
