Ex-Twitter India execs Amrita Tripathi, Preetha Athrey launch Tap In!
The initiative is meant for early to mid-career working women and emphasises mentorship, allyship and upskilling opportunities
TAP IN! is an initiative by professionals for professionals, set up by two industry veterans, with 20 years of professional experience each, across Digital and Media (Amrita Tripathi) and Tech, Media, Telecom, CPG (Preetha Athrey), building out programming based on conversations with women across India and emerging markets.
The team kicked off with a pan-India survey of 100 professional women earlier this year, and since then has conducted multiple 1:1 deep-dive strategy sessions with early birds, as well as workshops tailored to optimize candidates for the volatile job market.
Tap In also recently conducted a workshop for young leaders from marginalized groups in collaboration with the Azaadi initiative, focusing on key principles of leadership, and focusing on public speaking, building one’s personal brand, and learning how to manage teams and conflict.
The initiative is for the early and mid-career working woman who needs mentorship, allyship and upskilling opportunities. Tap in will ensure a tailored, customized experience, with tangible skill development. This includes a membership forum, network and access to video-on-demand modules and workshops for professionals on key career development skills like Negotiation, Public Speaking, Leadership, Combating Imposter Syndrome, Interview Prep and much more.
Preetha Athrey, former Director and Head of Global Business Marketing- Twitter Asia Pacific & Co-founder Tap in! says, “I couldn’t be more excited about bringing this initiative forward. Building on what I’ve learned from working at incredible organizations like Twitter, Airtel, Time Warner, Apollo Tyres etc, we are driven to solve the common challenges that career women face across the country, as well as support those looking to break into a tough environment. There’s no question that this is a tough climate right now, and we think this is the perfect time to upskill, network, and de-risk your career.”
Amrita Tripathi, former Head of Global Content Partnerships, Twitter India and Founder, Tap in! says, “I’m looking forward to working with and building out this community with a laser-sharp focus on what works in a professional environment. We’re not academics and this won’t be top-down learning, so we will be sharing content and modules and talks by professionals, for professionals. We expect this to only grow, going forward. There’s nothing women can’t do when we have peer support, mentors and most of all, an enabling atmosphere.”
