Mathrubhumi's ticking bomb installation on World No Tobacco Day
In Kochi, the Group put up an installation of cigarettes resembling a ticking bomb as part of its innovative no-smoking campaign
Kerala’s Mathrubhumi Group spread its no-smoking message in Kochi through an ambient installation placed at Vytilla junction.
The installation in the form of a ticking time bomb, with cigarettes replacing dynamites sticks, was part of a campaign to create awareness against smoking on World No Tobacco Day on May 31. The cigarettes used in the model were made using PVC pipes and a timer clock was attached on both sides. The caption on the installation reads: ‘Every second you smoke a cigarette, you’re getting closer to death’. The underlying message of the installation is that smokers are, in fact, ticking bombs waiting to go off.
The installation was created by Maitri Advertising and is a joint effort of Kochi city police and Corporation in association with Mathrubhumi.
