Viral Pandya, Chief Creative Officer, Out of the Box, said, “We are delighted beyond words. The high of having won the Gold in Design at Cannes hasn’t worn off, when we heard this news. We must be doing something right.”
The main exhibition, titled ‘Commercial Art – Contemporary Product Posters’ at this year’s festival shows a selection of contemporary commercial posters that stand out in the crowd because of their artistic quality and the distinctiveness of implementation. Partner of the exhibition is the Poster Collection of the Museum for Design, Zurich, which is one of the most extensive and important archives of its kind in the world.
The exhibition address questions like ‘Are art and commerce allowed to merge?’ ‘Is it realizable nowadays to design posters with a high artistic level for advertising?’ and ‘How compatible are economic purposes and artistic individuality?’ With several exhibitions planned in Lucerne, the event promotes the poster as a unique medium and brings it closer to the audience.
According to the organisers, Out of the Box’s set of posters titled ‘Vegetarian Dog Food’ is among the small but fine selection of about 20 international posters selected for display. These posters have already appeared in the Lurzer’s Archive, which showcases the best work in posters and advertisements from around the world.
