Radio Mirchi celebrates World Music Festival
To coincide with World Music Day on June 21, Radio Mirchi Mumbai has lined up a musical feast for its listeners as part of the 10-day special activity
Radio Mirchi Mumbai is celebrating World Music Festival on its show ‘Sunset Samosa’ from June 19 to June 28, between 5 pm and 9 pm. RJ Suren and RJ Meera have lined up talented and versatile artistes on their show. The objective is to celebrate world music and its influence on Bollywood songs. The music played on this show covers various genres such as Sufi, Jazz, Rock, Rap, Punjabi, Classical, and more.
The World Music Festival in concluding on June 28, 2012 with a live performance by Indian Ocean and Shefali Alvares at Hard Rock Cafe.
So far, Radio Mirchi has featured artistes like Niladri Kumar, Ashwin Srinivas, AR Rehman, Nandini Srikar , Anu Malik, Salim Sulaiman, Usha Uttup and Aditi Singh Sharma, among others.
Speaking to exchange4media, Indira Rangarajan, Vice President - Programming, West and Central, Radio Mirchi, said, “We are getting terrific response from our listeners on this initiative. The feedback has been great via SMS, calls, Twitter and Facebook.”
She further said, “Our biggest mode of marketing is our own station. We have promos across the day and are using our RJs to promote the initiative. Additionally, we’re promoting this on our website, Twitter pages as well as Facebook page.”
The advertisers who have come on board include Loop Mobile as presenting sponsor for the specials, while the Festival is powered by Skoda Laura VRS.
