94.3 Radio One has partnered with the second edition of INK Conference 2011, in association with TED. The conference is being held in Jaipur from December 8-11, 2011 and the theme this year is ‘Power of the Journey’.

The INK Conference is an annual conference that aims to fuel innovation and foster knowledge by bringing together the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers on a global stage. The ideas that these speakers put forth are then transmitted worldwide via the World Wide Web, inspiring thought, conversation, and – ultimately – action.

Radio One is celebrating the achievements of the speakers from India by hosting a special edition of the show ‘Play Your Music Day’, in line with the theme of the conference. The achievers, who belong to diverse fields, include music composer Shantanu Moitra, designer of ‘The fake IPL player’ blog Anupam Mukherji, photographer Anusha Yadav and many others. The achievers will speak about their respective journeys and the music they enjoy.

Shyju Varkey, Station Head, Radio One Bangalore, elaborated, “The Radio One ‘Power of the Journey’ has a story to tell. Radio One has over the last five years elevated to new heights, achieved many milestones and has strived to give its listeners a maximum say in the music played on the station. The journey was tough in the initial stages, but now we have carved out a special niche for ourselves as we are the only 100 per cent Bollywood music station. We know that the journey ahead is not going to be easy, but we will take the ups and downs in our stride and do the best we can to keep our listeners happy.”

Lakshmi Pratury, INK Curator, said, “INK’s raison de etre is to fuel innovation and foster knowledge. With its reach and level of personalisation, radio is such a perfect medium to disseminate our ideas. Radio One’s ‘Play your Music Day’ fits like glove with this year’s theme, where our Fellows can talk about the power of their journeys. We’re delighted to partner Radio One for the first time, and we’re sure this will open up avenues for several such initiatives.”
